Christmas, of all seasons, is the one that pulls our wallet a bit more under.
I know that it’s all a consuming fanaticism and every little thing is made to sell. But, even if you try to fight it, there is no way out. Those little gifts start pilling up and when you look at your credit card report you have a sudden desire to migrate to the moon.
It’s useless… We are bound to the market and are eternally its slaves.
My spending for this year just on gifts? Less than last year but more than I wanted: $667.27
Am I stupid or what?
Unfortunately too late for me, I’ve found some useful tips on how to tighten the reins on Christmas spending. Maybe I should have searched a little bit earlier…
- Finish your Christmas shopping under budget
- The Christmas Budget - Spending Plan
- A Christmas budget in this holiday season
- Christmas Budget
- 9 Ways to cut the Christmas Budget
- 6 Tips for a Debt Free Christmas
- Christmas Budget and Helpful Tips
I’ll just have to remember to come back to this post and read each one of these links before the shopping Christmas season starts next year.

Making lists, setting a budget, and being organized are all keys to beating the trend of “spend, spend, spend.” It’s never to late to recover for overspending. No matter where you are in your financial goals, you have to start NOW to get where you want to be tomorrow.
Hi Kathryn,
Thanks for your comment.
It’s the NOW part that I always have problems with… but I’m working on it. As for Christmas budget, I won’t make it for the past season, but budgets are budgets and can be applied during the whole year… And I’m getting there.
Of course it will make next Christmas much easier if we start planning now:) Thanks for the mention.
Hmmm…
Let’s not get carried away. Now, as in right now, is still a little bit early
But for sure I’ll get to it much sooner than this last season.
And no problem on the mention.
