Have you ever had the feeling that your days are just running by and in some of them it seems that you have accomplished nothing useful?
Unfortunately this is a recurring feeling for many. One solution is time sheets. Unfortunately these are boring to maintain and unless you are a fairly disciplined person you’ll probably give up after a few days. One other disadvantage of time sheets, ironically, is the amount of time it takes to process them.
Well, and in comes SlimTimer.
It’s an online application that lets you insert tasks and, at the press of a button, starts counting the time you’re spending on that particular task. One advantage of it is that you can set it up as a sidebar on your browser and have the list of tasks just there open for you. Click on one and the time starts ticking until you press it again.
Back to their website, you can generate reports and quickly analyze were your time went and to which tasks you dedicated (or invested) more time.
The learning curve is extremely small and besides that, it’s free. Nothing to loose in trying.
It might sound a bit geeky but it can actually make a huge difference and improve performance through out your days.
