USB Rechargeable Batteries

With the proliferation of small appliances that use batteries, specially with the mobility trends, having the capacity to recharge batteries wherever you have your computer has become more a need then a geeky thing.
And for those more environmental-friendly, the idea that over 15 billion batteries are thrown away every year can’t be a happy thought.
So, what is the solution?
USB Rechargeable Batteries
Just pop the lid, plug into any USB port and you have your batteries recharging.
The only downside is the 5 hours it takes to reach a full charge. But if you just need a "quick fix" of juice, since NiMh batteries aren’t affected by the "charge memory" or normal NiCd batteries, it’s ok to partially charge them, presumably without loss in long term performance.
The big advantage of USB Rechargeable Batteries, as I see it, is that there is no need for a separate charger wherever you have your computer or laptop.
